Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers Don’t Back Down

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers brought their 40th Anniversary Tour to the Frank Erwin Center on May 2, 2017 – and at 40 years in, they show no sign of stopping anytime soon. Playing a career-spanning set that was chocked full of classics, the hits weren’t always the ones you would expect. Petty and the band dove a bit deeper into their catalog. This is just one of the many reasons that Petty and the five members of the Heartbreakers continue to be relevent, not satisfied to play by the numbers and collect their check.

Hometown hero Gary Clark Jr.opened the show.

Tom Petty Set List: Rockin’ Around (With You), Mary Jane’s Last Dance, You Don’t Know How It Feels, Forgotten Man, You Got Lucky, I Won’t Back Down, Free Fallin’, Good Enough (with Gary Clark Jr.), Don’t Come Around Here No More, It’s Good to Be King, Crawling Back to You, Wildflowers, Learning to Fly (acoustic), Yer So Bad, I Should Have Known It, Refugee, Runnin’ Down a Dream Encore: You Wreck Me, American Girl
